NEW AIRLINE IN THE REGION, WILL BE OPERATING CHARTER FLIGHTS.

Azur Air Germany (Dusseldorf) plans to commence operations in April 2017 using widebody aircraft for leisure flights operated on behalf of Turkish tour operator, Anex Tourism Group (ATG).

Anex Tour (Germany) CEO, Dirk Burneleit, told Touristik Akutell in an interview that the start-up has applied for an Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) from Germany's Federal Aviation Office (Luftfahrt-Bundesamt - LBA). Once all regulatory hurdles have been cleared, the charter specialist will operate from Dusseldorf, its primary hub, as well as Berlin and Munich.

Initially, Azur Air Germany will fly to Bulgaria, the Canary Islands, Crete, Croatia, the Dominican Republic, and Palma Son Sant Joan, with additional routes planned for the 2017/18 winter season. Operations are on-board a trio of B767-300(ER)s.

Anex Tourism has numerous interests scattered around Europe, Russia, and the CIS at large. In terms of airlines, it owns Russia's Azur Air (ZF, Krasnoyarsk) and is believed to have some form of partnership agreement with Azur Air Ukraine (QU, Kiev Boryspil) which, despite its name, is still a wholly-owned subsidiary of Russia's UTair Group.
